Thankful for a delightful day to celebrate with a picnic,

and a sad reminder that transitions are happening too fast.

We had a brunch for our friends who are leaving Vancouver in a couple weeks in our backyard this morning.  We couldn't have asked for a better day.  This is the first day in Vancouver that you actually can wear your sandals outside!  We didn't really have a legitamate backup place to host this many people, so we were so glad it is the best weather yet this year today.

But again, so sad to say another goodbye.  A reminder that in 9 months, we will be starting yet another round (but I don't want to think about that now!)  Today, the day before the celebration of Easter, we also celebrate friendship and community and beautiful weather and good food.  So thankful to be right here.  So thankful to be surrounded by friends and neighbors from across the globe.  So thankful that although people move on, we have been blessed by their presence in our lives for a short and important time.  So thankful that we have eternity to celebrate life together!  So thankful for Christ and his resurrection that make that possible.

And the kids are so thankful for Easter Egg hunts!

proof that chocolate eggs melt in your hand and not in your mouth!
And gleeful moments of chasing bubbles on the breeze.
 Yep, a day to celebrate!
