Spoiled by Spring

Can you believe the flowers are finally coming out on the trees? Despite the pictures you see here, down in the valley of Vancouver City, spring is popping up all over the place!

We have had SUCH a lovely week.  Even though it's chilly in the shade everywhere you go in Vancouver, in the sun it's delightful!  Every day that it doesn't rain is such a different experience from our "normal" winter weather. This week I've enjoyed 3 non-rainy runs, a nice bike ride on trails with a friend as we both pulled trailers behind us, planting my garden and as a special treat this past Thursday, an evening of downhill skiing.

Now, I've been trying to remember how long it's been since I've been downhill skiing... and I think it's probably been 15 years or more!  Despite that, Dave and I hit the mountain thanks to the kindness of friends who watched our kids and had a FAB evening of skiing over Vancouver.  To inspire you by the beauty, here's a video.  (Don't critique my very rusty ski skills!)  Even though our legs were sore afterwards, we were so enjoying our evening and the absolute beauty of this place.

Today we went for my "long" run (only 6 miles at this point) but my legs are also feeling that, and the reminder that I have signed up and paid for my place in the Vancouver Half Marathon the first week of May.  But, that too, was lovely.  Clear blue skies, soaring eagles above us, the ocean below, and white capped mountains in view.  Can't go wrong!  We are LOVING spring!
