Well, the family had an adventure to high falls yesterday. 4 brave and dirty souls made their way through the Cranberry Lake outback to find a well worn and leg-scratching trail to High Falls, a lovely spot that intersects the Oswegatchie River and a trail coming from the lake. Mosquitos weren't the only companions for the trail, we also met a 2 boy scout trips and a group from Houghton College all out enjoying the wilderness for a week-10 days.

I smiled as I watched the leaders and campers interact, and even more so when one group approached us to look at our map because they didn't have one for the area they were in. Ah, yes, beginners:). I couldn't help but think of the 9 Freshman 13 day trips already in their first few days of the Wheaton wilderness program, and to think of my leaders and the impact they would have on the new students. Smiled because I will always look back fondly, and with gratefulness for the program that affected me so much.

Good old Cranberry Lake and the beautiful Adirondacks. A good place to have grown up.
